Exercise, most people know that it is important.  Well, If they know how important it is  why are so many people overweight and out of shape?  The number one excuse people make for not exercising is not enough time.  Why is it that some people have enough time to exercise and others do not?  If you truly want to become more active you have to make the time. Instead of finding reasons not to exercise, find reasons to exercise.  Exercise is like an investment.  This investment is one of the most important investments you will ever make. This is an investment in your present and future wellness.  No one chooses to be unhealthy.  If you do not have exercise as a regular part of your life you increase your chance of health related problems. There are many researched benefits of exercises.  These benefits include lower blood pressure, more energy, weight maintenance, weight loss and reduced stress.

You want to be healthy, but do not know where to start. Start slow, you want to do something that you can maintain.  One of the biggest mistakes is to do to much too soon.  For someone who has not exercised for a long period of time, one of the best exercises to do is walking.  As your condition becomes better you can increase the speed of your walking or eventually start running.  Once your conditioning has improved you can start to increase the intensity of the exercise. An effective exercise program involves three components resistance training (weights), aerobic activity and proper nutrition.

If you regularly do exercise, then continue to do so, keep up this valuable investment. It is important for kids to start at an early age with exercising.  Developing good habits that can be maintained for a lifetime.  So, invest in your health and encourage your child to do the same.  Ask yourself if you're setting a good example of healthy lifestyle.
